Hagar’s Sisters provides all services through a Christian lens. Volunteers who interact with or do work related to our programs are required to share our Christian faith. However, there are volunteer positions within the organization that do not require a person to hold Christian beliefs. We ask those who are not of the Christian faith to be respectful of our beliefs and our spiritual practices in the office, at organization gatherings, and as we serve, which may include conversations about our beliefs, scripture reading, spiritual conversations and prayer. Our beliefs include: We believe in the triune God – Eternal Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – as the only one true God. We believe Jesus came to Earth, born of a virgin, fully man yet fully God. He lived a life without sin, was crucified and died to pay the price for our sin. He rose from the dead, and conquered death so that all who receive Him as their Savior and Lord will have eternal life. We believe that the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit is the constant source of guidance and wisdom in all of faith and life. We believe that God has revealed himself to humankind through the Word written and that this written word is inerrant in the original documents and is, therefore, our primary guide for faith and life. We believe God’s Word is replete with His passionate opposition to all forms of abuse, whether emotional, sexual, financial, physical, or spiritual. We have been created to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. God not only charges us to help the oppressed but receives such ministry as an act of Worship. It is in this spirit we desire to serve in His Name as part of Hagar’s Sisters.
