Hagar’s Sisters exists so that women experiencing intimate partner abuse
never have to navigate their next steps alone. Over the past two years, the
demand for our faith-centered, trauma-informed support has grown dramatically—
far faster than our staffing and systems can sustainably keep up. This short-term
Capacity Campaign seeks $350,000 over 6 months to ensure that when a woman
reaches out for help, compassionate care is promptly available.

The Moment We're In
Women are reaching out to Hagar’s Sisters in unprecedented numbers, often at critical moments requiring clarity and courage. In two years, the number of average monthly inquiries increased from 27 to 150, with the annual number of new Sisters accessing services jumping from 29 to 340.
This explosion of numbers is a testament to trust—women are finding Hagar’s Sisters and believing they will be met with dignity and understanding. Women are discovering the safety, healing, and hope God desires. Yet growth at this pace also creates risk. Despite a lean and efficient budget, the demand is stretching our systems and resources. When this happens, women can face delays at the very moment they are ready to seek help.
The goal of this campaign is to eliminate these delays by quickly strengthening operational and program capacity so that Hagar’s Sisters can meet the current level of need with excellence.

One-time leadership gifts provide immediate relief and expansion. These gifts allow Hagar’s Sisters to increase available services, reduce response delays, and protect staff from burnout during periods of peak demand. Capacity Gifts ensure women receive support right when they reach out.
2. The Sustaining Circle | Ongoing Impact
GOAL $150,000 annually
Monthly donors form the backbone of long-term sustainability. Commitments of $50, $100, $250, or more per month provide reliable funding for staff and programs, ensuring the capacity built through this campaign remains strong in the years ahead.

What will success look like?
Within the next year, this campaign will result in faster response times, expanded access to programs, healthier staff workloads, and a stronger, more resilient funding base. Most importantly, it will mean that when a woman reaches out for help, she is met quickly with compassion, clarity, and care.
Why is Hagar’s Sisters operating on a lean budget?
That was one of the goals of the move to virtual services with the online Sister portal in 2020 – increasing efficiencies to serve more Sisters on fewer dollars! This vision is now a reality. Since 2019, we’ve reduced the cost per sister by almost 50% so that Sustaining Circle dollars go further than ever before. At the same time, the rapid explosion in Sister numbers means that we still need to boost support to keep up with the need. While we are volunteer driven, staff are needed to develop volunteers, maintain learning platforms, and provide administrative underpinning.
Is the difference between new inquiry and new sister numbers typical?
Historically for Hagar’s Sisters, 50% of new inquiries convert to initial conversations. 33% of those conversations lead to women entering the program. These trends held steady in 2025.
What will Capacity Gifts be used for?
Capacity funds will help expand program staffing—including the recently hired Support Groups Manager and a part-time Care Team Coordinator—to ease team workload, improve services, and develop volunteers. Gifts will also support Sister portal updates, ensuring an accessible and engaging online experience. In addition, funding will support organizational health through targeted HR and IT consulting. The goal is to improve efficiency and effectiveness, while safeguarding the ministry’s financial stability and long-term sustainability amid rapid growth.

Sustaining Circle funds will ensure we keep pace with ministry needs over the long-haul:

- $250/month Allows ALL Sisters access to Sister Portal resources all year long
